AVVENTURA ITALIANA 2015 REFLECTION

After our whirlwind tour of Rome, the serene town of Sorrento provided a lovely destination to relax, and above all enjoy the incredible beauty of Italy’s southern coast.  The first evening in Sorrento was spent unwinding as we explored the streets and the many little shops.  We admired the gorgeous

scenery as we watched the sun set over the sea, just a short walk from out hotel.  On the second day we sailed out to the famed Isle of Capri, where we then hopped onto another boat and took a tour around the island.  We gathered on the open-air deck of the boat and had an uninterrupted view of the steep white cliffs and incredibly vibrant blue water.  After this, we spent more time in Capri, cooling down in the clear water at the beach.  Both the lovely pastel-coloured buildings and picturesque natural landscape of Capri ensured that it was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful locations in Italy.  After our long day in the sun, we returned to the mainland and headed to our gelato-making class, where students helped create some deliciously fresh lemon gelato.  We all had a sample of it, definitely the best I’d ever tasted, and then – even better – we each had another free gelato of our choice – buonissimo!
