Acting Head of Campus - Arlington

Fare Thee Well!
The rapid approach of the end of our busy second term of 2016 brings us closer to a new beginning for our librarian, Cal Baxter, and her sidekick, Zelda. Finally, a chance to attend to the projects placed gently on the backburner! The children joined Cal and Zelda in a "Souper Cal" cook-up in the Pines last Friday before performing "Thinking of You" by Michael Price (8s & 9s teacher) to a very appreciative Cal.
Cal will be returning later in the year to facilitate the 'Anthology' Writer's Festival, involving our children in exploring their authoring and creative skills towards the production of the year's publication.
We look forward to hearing of Cal's explorations in these areas as she works on her own stories and adventures with Zelda!
Winter Solstice Highlights
I sincerely thank all of the wonderful members of our Preshil community for the important parts they played in making last night's event such a wonderful Preshil celebration. The Kindergarten children's beautiful lanterns, the wicker sculpture makers, teepee builders, dragon-lantern masters and musical performers displayed the creativity and collaboration that is a feature of our children's learning this year across the school levels.
I am also appreciative of the efforts of the willingness of our parent community, across both the Primary and Secondary schools, to contribute their talents and efforts towards the night's success. I especially thank Nerel Ezra for her coordination of the many moving parts.
And a big thank you to all who were able to attend the evening and brave the chilly weather for our community event.
Of course, we are always looking to make changes and I would love to have your feedback, positive and otherwise. If you could make the time, I very much look forward to your email: anthony.cavagna@preshil.vic.edu.au
Wishing everyone a safe, happy and restful holiday. I look forward to catching up with you on Tuesday 12 July as we embark on another Arlington adventure.
