Teacher - Maths
Last semester, the 10A Maths students really rose to the challenge.
As a celebration for both the of the end of term and to recognise their hard work, the 10A teachers staged the third annual 10A Maths Games.
At this event, all the 10A Mathematics students are split into teams of three or four. The teams then compete against the clock and each other to complete a set of problem-solving mathematical questions. This gave students the opportunity to work with friends from other 10A Maths classes - there was lots of laughter, shared successes and (of course) some frustrations!
Below is a similar question to those posed to the students. Can you solve it? How long would it take you? Do you think you could beat a 10A Student?
Well done to all the students on their enthusiasm and friendly (but competitive!) spirit throughout this event - proving again that Maths can be a LOT of fun!
Special congratulations to the three top teams who used initiative, teamwork and brain-power to be triumphant on the day.

10A Games Day was good as I got to work in a group to solve questions rather than by myself. Having three brains made it much more fun!

This event was good fun! I liked it when I got a question right.

The Maths Games Event was really enjoyable and challenging. It was great to play with and against the other classes. I hope that we do more of these in the future.
