What's happening in CAPA

Central Coast Showcase

Congratulations to the fabulous students who performed at the Laycock Street Theatre  Wednesday 24 August and Thursday 25 August as part of the Central Coast Public Schools' Showcase. Showcase is a prestigious event and features only the best student performers from across the region.

The students involved included:

Year 12: Nicole Martin, Chelsea Berman, Melody Hoptman, Alix Mear.

Year 8: Kane Simmonds, Varun Rapolu, William Day and Tom Whight.

Year 11 : Amber McAlpine, Nico Falzarano, Owen Butterworth, Tom Josephs and Danielle Shepherd.

Special mention also needs to be made of the work of Owen Butterworth who was relaxed and entertaining as one of the MC's.

Aladdin

Wednesday evening 17 August, 50 HKHS students and staff members travelled to the Capitol Theatre to see the stage musical 'Aladdin'. This show opened about two weeks ago and the students were thrilled to be amongst one of the first audiences to see the Australian Production. This show was spectacular as was the students behaviour which was exemplary.

Thank you to Mr Damien Clift, Ms Tricia Muscat, Mrs Jade Draper and Ms Dawn Keft for supervising this excursion.

Woy Woy Leagues Club Performance

On Sunday 31 August students from our Year 11 Music class performed at Woy Woy Leagues club backing the Sydney band 'Far Away Stables'. It was a wonderful experience for our students and they have more 'gigs' planned for the future so stay tuned.

HKHS Live On ABC Radio

Congratulations to Amber McAlpine and Owen Butterworth who were given the honour of representing Public Schools on the ABC radio last week. The students were interviewed by radio presenter Scott Levi and also did a live performance of The Waifs song 'London Still'. Congratulations again, on a job well done.

Thank You

Thanks also to the mums, dads, grans, caregivers and helpers that are supporting the many events that the Music faculty are facilitating. Your help with car pools, putting up with late nights and attendance at the events is greatly appreciated.
