Wellbeing & Engagement

Wellbeing and Engagement

It has been a huge two weeks at Rangeview as we power through Term 4! The staff are all working incredibly hard to make this term full of learning, creativity, special celebrations and joy. We need to make up for missed time together in Term 3.

Remembrance Day

On Remembrance Day our school captains Elise and Luke attended a commemoration at Halliday Park. They read the Significance of the Red Poppy and laid a wreath on behalf of the school. Back at Rangeview our whole school joined the live stream from the Shrine of Remembrance and took part in the minute of silence.

Foundation Transition Sessions

It has been wonderful to welcome our incoming Foundation students for 2022 in their first transition sessions. There were some worried faces, some excited faces and lots of eager feet as they followed their teachers off to class for the first time. We were so proud of the way they managed to engage with some learning (and some play) right from the first session! 2022 is going to be a wonderful year.

Production Filming

Our 5/6 Production was filmed onsite in the gym on Monday 8th. The students in both casts were so excited and the performance was absolutely outstanding – especially considering the amount of online remote rehearsal that has been necessary for this production! A huge thank you to Megan Campbell, Ryan Evans, Deirdree Geilings and also to our incredible parents who have worked so hard on the props, costumes, sets and coaching of our students. The Production will be screened (hopefully this week) for our parents to see.

Colour Run

We will be holding a whole school event on Friday 10th December – Colour Run. This event will start at 2pm and will involve the students running a course around the school and being sprayed with non-toxic colour. There will be a $15 entry fee and students will receive a Canteen Bandanna and coloured glasses to wear on the run. The proceeds on the Bandannas will go to Canteen for the support of children with Cancer. The other profit will go to the school.

This event is open for families to attend. All families attending will need to QR code into the grounds on the day (at the gates) and wear a mask if they cannot socially distance. We are seeking advice on vaccination requirements. Noel Jones Mitcham is providing a coffee cart for the event – a huge thank you to Noel Jones!

Liz Barr has requested this event be the celebration for her retirement – as we are unable to hold assemblies inside for parents to attend with all the students, this will be our schools public acknowledgement and thanks for her incredible work leading the school over the last 11 years.

We hope our families can attend onsite – we will run a WebEx for the start of the run to assist those that wish to join remotely.

Icy Pole Day

We had our first Icy Pole Day last Friday and it was lovely to see how excited our students were to have even this simple special event. There will be another Icy Pole Day on Friday December 3rd.
