Level 1

Level 1 News

We have had a lovely fortnight in Level 1. We are still not taking being back at school for granted, and students and teachers alike are so appreciative of being able to see each other in person! In Wellbeing, we have been expressing our gratitude in craft hearts. We have also been working on ‘snapshots’ of our year, using paper cameras – amazing what cameras are made of these days…

We acknowledged Remembrance Day with a number of activities. Students wrote about what they understand about the history of this day, and created their own poppies. We also watched some of the Shrine of Remembrance Virtual Remembrance Day service.

In Maths, we have been practising telling time to the o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. We have also been learning more about fractions.

We continue to work on persuasive writing, students are becoming very good at trying to persuade their teachers they should have naps at school, more recess and be able to eat lollies all day! In one session this week, students imagined they were writing the text for an advertisement and tried to persuade the reader to buy their product, with some fabulous results.

Carols practice is well underway, and so far has been a lot of fun. We look forward to performing after some more practice!
