Sports Report

Even though we have had much relief from the easing of restrictions,  the GD Committee made the decision that no interschool competitions would be run in November and December. Although this isn’t the news I was hoping to announce, with the amount of organisation and restrictions opening dates being  unclear, the planning was still a very difficult process especially with hiring venues etc.

Clay Target

The 2021 Shooting Captains, Demi Taylor and Braydon Goss, organised the House Shooting Competition for the Clay Target team. Due to the large number of shooters and the COVID restrictions, we had to run the program over two nights. The weather was warm with very little wind, which compared to the wind and rain that we had been training in meant we had perfect conditions for shooting. Surprisingly with the conditions near perfect, the results were not what we had expected. Six shooters cane back this week to shoot off to determine the High Gun winner. This is the best shot for the competition. All award winners will be announced at the upcoming School Assembly.

Saturday Netball

The Saturday morning Netball takes off this weekend which is fantastic. I wish the U15 and U13 team all the best in their first games.  Thank you to the generous volunteers of parents, friends and students who have offered to coach, manage, or umpire our teams. Without your involvement sports such as Saturday morning netball could not run.

Basketball

Basketball is set to start in the coming weeks as well. Thank you to the volunteers that have organised the Monivae teams. Further information in regard to the upcoming season will be sent to Team managers when it becomes available.

Those players no longer playing for Monivae, please return your uniform to the front desk in a bag clearly marked with your name as this will avoid any additional costs.

Last season’s fees have been calculated and an email will be sent within the week.  Those owing fees will be sent an adjusted amount. Those players who paid for the full season will receive notice of a credit, that will go towards the upcoming season's fees.

For the upcoming season there has been an adjustment to how we will be collecting fees. More information will be sent to players at a later date.
