Primary

From the Primary School

What a final day of school we have had!

Where to begin…. After a long standing career of 44 years (of which 15 of those at MAG), Alan Davidson has just taught his final period. Whilst he is looking forward to retirement, we will miss him and we hope that he will make a return in 2023 as a casual relief teacher.

An avid numbers and facts man, how about these interesting facts about Mr D?

  • Alan has taught a total of 54,000 periods in his life.
  • He has taught 1300 students (many of which he remains in contact with today).
  • Alan has taken the class roll 9000 times.
  • He has written 2600 reports and attended 2600 parent-teacher interviews.
  • Alan has been on 40 different School camps.
  • He has worked under 15 Principals and…
  • He has dressed up for book week 30 times.

Alan is an incredibly dedicated and passionate teacher and in speaking with him leading up to today, he will miss the students, staff and families at our school dearly. Even though it took Alan a long time to decide that retirement was the next step for him, he could not be happier with his decision and we at Moama Anglican Grammar wish Alan nothing but the best as he embarks on this next exciting stage of his life.

Next we would like to wish Tracee Zweck all the best with her move to Wangaratta where she will be closer to her family. Tracee was instrumental in the set-up and development of our Kindergarten class when the Junior School first opened. Tracee has worked with many of our staff and shared her knowledge freely. She is highly regarded by our School community and this has been obvious with the messages of support, good lucks and farewells she has received over the last few weeks.

Tracee has not taken this move lightly but the timing proves right and we could not be happier for her and Michael as they embark on this next stage of their lives. Tracee has been a valued, committed and passionate staff member and parent at Moama Anglican Grammar for 11 years.

Finally we say goodbye to Kate Matthews. Kate has taught Year 2 at Moama Anglican Grammar for the last 2 years. Kate has built great relationships with our staff, students and parents. Kate has been instrumental in supporting staff during the times of Quality Distance Learning. We wish Kate all the best and we thank her for all the engaging units of work she has developed in Stage 1.

 Year 6 Celebration Dinner

Congratulations to all of our Year 6s who marked the end of the primary years with a Celebration Dinner last Thursday evening at the Rich River Golf Club.

Best of luck to all of you as you make the big transition to Year 7 - we know you'll do great!
