Year 12 Graduation Mass and Dinner

Last week our Year 12 students shared an amazing night at their Graduation Mass and Dinner (pictured in our banner photo and below).

We wish all students the very best for the path that lies ahead.

Update from Hunter Glover – Exchange Program in Italy

After arriving in Italy, I have had the opportunity to make many friends from all different countries around the world. For the first week I stayed in Rome. I did an orientation day followed by a few days exploring the city, visiting sites such as The Coliseum and the Roman Forum. After a long week, all 50 of us departed on trains and planes to go to our host family. I was placed in a massive town (to everyone else here it’s small) called Novara with a population of 100,000 people. When I finally met my host family (Host mum Sara, Host dad Fede, Host sisters Lys, Elena and the twins) this whole experience felt so surreal... this was all finally happening. For the first few days I didn’t go to school and basically spent my time getting to know my host family and getting my bearings of the town. The first day of school was so crazy, as I am the first exchange student this school has had, everyone was very excited and interested to find out who I was, so on a daily basis for the first week I would get surrounded by everyone trying to speak to me in English and introduce themselves. I was extremely, extremely lucky and made many friends very fast. In my time here we have gone to festivals, lunches and a place here called the disco. School here is very weird. For the first month, school started at 8.00am every day and ended at 12.30pm, then after that they adjusted the timetable and we currently go to school from 8.00am-2.30pm on Monday’s and Wednesday’s and 8.00am-1.30pm on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Fridays. I have joined many sports clubs over here also, such as the swim team, the archery club (I go to with my host family), Aikido, horse riding on occasion with my host sister and I also go to the gym with one of my friends named Piper who’s from Canada. I have also had the opportunity to go to Milan, Verona, Galliate, Trecate and many other places... in fact on the weekend I spent three days in Verona and attended the Feracavalli (the biggest horse event in all of Europe). My trip has been amazing so far but I have defiantly had moments where I wish I could go home and see my family, homesickness has been a struggle for me. I am very thankful to have been able to take part in this opportunity and can’t wait for more adventures in the future! I hope everything is very well in Kyabram.

P.S. The food is even better than what people say.
