SIS Athletics
After many weeks of practice and organising, the SIS Athletics Team participated in the Division B Athletics Carnival at Lakeside Stadium in Albert park on Monday 26th August. St John's was represented by over a 100 students who created a wonderful atmosphere in the stands as our athletes gave their all in both track and field events on a beautiful sunny day.
It was wonderful to see so many students trying their hardest in all the races and field events such as Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Javelin and shot put.
Overall St John's came to a well respected second place behind Balcombe and all students should be proud of their efforts. Many students coming home with a wide range of ribbons.
Other results included St John's WINNING the U/14 and OPEN boys division. And the senior students (Years 11 and 12) should be proud that they also took home the SENIOR SHIELD for 2019.
Well done to all the students on their efforts for the day and thank you to the staff who helped make the day a successful one including Catherine Bortolus, Ash Holly, Carolina Laing, Sandra Griffiths, Julie Millar, Paul Wintle, Paul Boswell, Adrianna Grech and our student teacher, Nataylia. Also a big thanks to Sonia McNally and Judy Bishop who really motivated, organised and marshaled the students in getting involved this year, the results speak for themselves.

On Thursday 12th September we encourage all staff and students to wear something yellow on this day – Students to wear full school uniform, but can have a yellow top/ jumper on top … yes…you can wear your Yellow to and from school!!!
Activities will start during Pastoral in Week 8 (Tuesday 3rd September) and will continue on R U OK? Day!
