Reunions
Class of 1979
It was fantastic to have so many Kilvonians attend their 40- and 45-year reunions in July. Full credit to everyone for braving the cold, wet evening in Melbourne.
Gaye Wymond, Class of 1974 and former chair of the Kilvington Grammar Board, attended. Gaye said a few words and gave us all a bit of history surrounding the move to coeducation and just how far the School has come in the past 10 or so years.
We were very proud and excited to show off our impressive new Sport Centre which had only been officially opened the week prior.
Many thanks to Sally Sharman who brought along some photos from her personal collection and also donated an old prospectus to our archives.
It was fantastic to host a wonderful group of Kilvonians at the 30- and 35-year reunions in August this year. We were delighted to have several Kilvonians who made the effort to travel from interstate to attend.
Emma Scott, Class of 1989, came loaded up (all the way from Brisbane) with her old uniforms, Kilvonian year books and even her autographed lab coat to add to our archives. We are always happy to receive memorabilia to add to the School collection.
It was lovely to witness the genuine warmth and friendships that have endured over the years. We toured original classrooms, the library and science labs, which of course stirred up many funny stories and memories.
There was talk of an ongoing monthly dinner catch up and we look forward to hopefully sharing some photos from these in the future.
We were thrilled to host our former students at their 20- and 25-year reunion on September 13. It was a lively group with lots of memories shared and laughter experienced by all.
Many who attended fondly remembered our Principal, Jon Charlton, when he was their Math teacher. Jon joked that Sarah McSwiney, Class of 1999, as a current Kilvington Board member and parent is now actually his boss!
Thanks to former teachers, Ann Cleghorn and Ann Dillon for joining us to reminisce on the night.
We look forward to welcoming you all back to Kilvington at any time!
Thanks to everyone who attended our Walsh Club reunion in November. It was the first time we have hosted in our fantastic Sport Centre Multi-Purpose Room and it was a lovely setting.
We had some of our regular attendees and it was a treat to have Joy Wilson, Class of 1959, join us all the way from Sydney for her first Walsh Club gathering.
Current Year 9 student Keisha White helped out with greeting our Kilvonians, including welcoming her own grandmother, Ruth White. Keisha was proud to share that she is the sixth member of three generations in her family to attend Kilvington. A great history with the School.
