2019 in Review

Wrapping Up 2019

It's been another fantastic year engaging with our Alumni. We held eight reunions, hosting more than 200 Kilvonians. Thanks must be given to our delightful current students who give up their own time to help out, along with the staff and, of course, yourselves who all contribute to a successful event.

The year ended on a high with our annual all-peer Kilvonian Konnections event.  Our guest speaker - financial adviser, media commentator and author - Helen Baker, provided great insight into the road to financial independence to our former students and staff.

Thank you to all who attended and contributed to making it such a great night.

Vale Keiko Ishihara

It is with deep sadness to advise that after a long illness, Keiko Ishihara passed away on 14 November 2019 in Japan.

Keiko was a much loved and respected Japanese Language teacher at Kilvington for 21 years. After being diagnosed with her illness in 2016 she made the decision to return home to Japan to be with her family.

She leaves a memorable legacy at Kilvington. Through her commitment to meticulous planning, setting high standards and quiet determination she always ensured her students achieved their very best. Her VCE results were outstanding.

Keiko’s mark on the School, outside the classroom, is undoubtedly her enormous contribution to setting up a student exchange program with three schools in Japan – programs she nurtured for 20 years. Each of those relationships continues to flourish and develop.

We will remember Keiko as hardworking, dedicated, gentle, caring and dignified, and she will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and the many members of the Kilvington community who were also her family.

Rest in Peace Keiko

Mentoring and Workplace Opportunities

Becoming involved with the Kilvington Mentor Program is a highly valued and beneficial way of giving back to the community. We strongly suggest that all interested Alumni consider mentoring as an opportunity to make an important contribution to the development and careers of the next generation of Kilvington students.

If you would like to offer mentoring and or workplace opportunities to our current students please contact Deb Duce at duced@kilvington.vic.edu.au.
