MyPhoto Melbourne Focus -

Term One

Reflection by Suzie Z (9C)

At the end of Term One, a group of Year 9s doing MyPhoto as their MYSELF subject went on an excursion into the city to capture incredible and unique photographs in a range of different styles. It's amazing how the group went from being strangers to friends, while getting to know the city we live in.

What's in Store for MyPhoto in Term Two?

This term in MyPhoto we are looking around our home environments for inspiration. We have learnt about five different genres including photography, landscape, portrait, surrealism, documentary and still life. We are planning and shooting one genre each week. Check this space to see how we go!

Ms Fisher's Yr 9 DiSCovery Class Gets Creative!

Students in Ms Fisher's 9A DiSCovery class were set a mini challenge in addition to their regular DiSCovery curriculum.

Students were reminded that even when working from home, they should make time to get fresh air and exercise. As a result, students took part in a "mindful walk" in their neighbourhoods, collecting items of interest such as gumnuts, sticks, bottle tops, pieces of metal or rubbish. They then got creative with them back home in their gardens.

The results were outstanding. Click through the above gallery to view their creations!

Student Reflection on Remote Learning (9C)

Being at home is a new experience and I have mixed feelings towards it. From a learning aspect, I have been more motivated to work and had no social distractions. My productivity has gone up and I am way more efficient with my work. But a negative/downfall to this is the fact that I don’t see anyone but my family all day, every day. Seeing friends is good and keeps you socially active.

Student Reflection (9C):

I chose to take my dog for a walk and then collect flowers on my walk and around my house. I set them out on the stump of an old eucalypt tree that used to stand out the front of the property. My favourite was the middle white one.
