Annie

It is with much pleasure that we have been able to begin rehearsals for “Annie” on Tuesdays after school, despite it being such a long time since auditions in Term 1! The cast were able to fit in some rehearsals before they headed off to exams, and our Year 8 chorus have begun rehearsing this week with our professional choreography, Sam Bruzzese. Our Year 7 chorus have been rehearsing for the last three weeks and our Junior Ambassadors even managed to catch up at a Wednesday lunchtime rehearsal. Here is a sneak peak of their progress so far with “Hard Knock Life”- enjoy!

UNLOCK’D 2020 Composition Competition

Congratulations to Year 9 students Poppy Rose and Lisa Luong who received commendations for their original compositions in the 2020 Unlock’d Composition Competition run by the Australian Guild of Music. The competition was open to students in Years 7 – 12 nationwide, and its main purpose was to encourage students to make the most of their time in lockdown to unleash their creativity. Poppy Rose – Thoughts

Hi I’m Poppy, I’m 15 years old and I love to write songs, sing, dance and create art. I’ve been writing songs since I was 12 and love creating original pieces that no one has heard before. I decided to use a guitar as I thought it went well with the melody. As the song lyrics are in a random order to show the chaos that can go through people’s minds all day, I wanted the guitar to be simple to help balance the song out.

Lisa Luong – Original Composition

My name is Lisa and I'm currently 14 years old. I enjoy composing and creating my own original music on music softwares. I've always had a strong passion for music and aspire to be a music producer one day. Making music is what gets me through the day and night. I added guitar in the composition. There was a bit of synths and a sub bass. There were beats included. A hint of tambourine and shakers were mixed in into the composition. In the composition, you could also hear a string instrument being plucked.
