Victorian Rubik’s Cube Competition

The Victorian Rubik’s Cube competition was held recently with one of our Year 11 students, Junqi (Frank) Feng participating. This is the third year that Junqi has participated in the competition, and I am pleased to inform that he again finished on top of the rankings. This means that he has won the competition 3 years in a row. That is some record, congratulations Junqi!!

 

My Agg conducted an interview with Junqi to try and find out the secret to his 3-peat success journey.

 

Mr Agg: Is it true that you have finished in 1st place for the past 3 years?

Junqi: Yes, it is true

 

Mr Agg: How long have you been practicing Rubik’s Cube solutions?

Junqi: I have practiced for an hour a day for the past 6 years

 

Mr Agg: What is your fastest time in solving a random cube challenge and what other hobbies to you have?

Junqi: Fastest time is 7.3 secs. I also like photography and cooking

 

Mr Agg: So you have been in Melbourne for 3 years, what is the best thing about Melbourne?

Junqi: The beach and the fresh seafood

 

Mr Agg: What is a favourite place in Melbourne? 

Junqi: I love the South Melbourne Market, so much to see and buy and everything is fresh

 

Mr Agg: Do you have a favourite Melbourne food/meal?

Junqi: Yes, the South Melbourne Market Dim Sims and the Aussie Pie

 

Mr Agg: What’s the best thing about life at Brighton SC?

Junqi: Friendly teachers, good friends and my caring homestay family, Jennifer and Alan

 

Mr Agg: What do you hope to do in the future?

Junqi: I would like to be a teacher in the future. Chinese language, Mathematics and Rubik’s Cube teacher
