From the Assistant Principals

I want to extend my gratitude to parents and carers for supporting our students to make the transition back to school this year. In what was a tumultuous year in 2020, it is wonderful to see our students at school, presenting themselves so well and working hard.

We also thank you for supporting the uniform policy of the school by ensuring your children are in black, lace-up school shoes, no jewellery other than a watch and no more than two studs/sleepers in the ears.

I would like to invite any parents to contact me if they are interested in joining the following school council committees.

  1. Uniform sub-committee – a group of students, staff and parents who meet regularly, when necessary, to review the uniform policy.
  2. Building our community and identity committee – a group of students, staff and parents who meet regularly to promote the backgrounds and cultures of our community, preserving mutual respect, harmony and equity.

The Glen Eira 5 underpins how we do things here at the college. These are a set of behaviours which we strive to adhere to. Staff, students and parents contributed to creating this about 7 years ago. Below is the parent and carers section. For other sections please see our website.

5 things you will see from our parents, carers and guardians;

  • involved and contribute to the broader educational program.
  • play an active role in the child’s learning.
  • support their children in achieving their learning goals.
  • promote the school values.
  • maintain open lines of communication with the school.
