Careers Corner

Year 9

All the Year 9 students have started the school year off by participating in My Career Insights and completing their Morrisby Test. Morrisby is a career guidance tool that helps to highlight the students’ strengths, abilities, aptitudes, and personalities, this information is then used to help match career paths and possible subjects that are best suited to their strengths. Students will then have access to their online Morrisby profile for the remainder of their schooling.

As part of this program, several Morrisby Certified Career Practitioners will be coming to school to meet one-on-one with each of the Year 9 students to talk through their results and provide them with a report to take home. These one-on-one interviews will be conducted over the 4th, 5th and 9th March.

Year 10

I have recently posted a couple of work experience opportunities for students on their Year 10 Google Classroom, some of these prospects include virtual work experiences that will be conducted online, allowing the students to still be able to learn and experience these opportunities without any safety concerns due to COVID. If students have any questions about the work experience opportunities I shared, they are more than welcome to speak with me directly.

Year 11 & 12

All Year 11 and 12 students will have the opportunity to attend the VCE and Careers Expo as part of a school excursion which is held at the Caulfield Racecourse on 30th April 2021. The VCE and Careers Expo is a great opportunity for students to be able to interact with a variety of Universities and Institutions and speak to them about potential courses and careers they are interested in. Students will also be able to attend several seminars relating to VTAC, careers, employment and VCE subjects. Further information regarding this excursion will be sent out closer to the date, although if you would like to read more about the VCE and Careers Expo, please click here.
