Student Services : Careers

It’s hard to believe that we are already in the second half of term one!

Year 10 students are working hard on securing a placement for their work experience week in May.  It is still a very challenging environment with the shift towards more employees working from home over the past couple of years. Students have been getting creative with their thinking and are showing great resilience in continuing their search.  Anyone who is unable to find a placement will complete a Virtual Work Experience program during the placement week.

Year 10 Careers' Day is being held on Tuesday 22 March during the morning sessions.  Students will attend class-size sessions to hear from 3 speakers in the morning. They will have an opportunity to ask questions in each session.  After recess students will be working on the Career Action Plan.  Thinking about career ideas for the future is important, especially with course and subject selection occurring in the second half of term two.

Year 10 Work Experience - deadline approaching

It has been great to chat to so many Year 10 students who are proactively working on securing their placement for May 16th – 20th

Students should speak to their Connect teacher as their first point of contact in organising their placement.

Placement and all documentation is due to be completed by the end of Term 1.

Further instructions and information can be found at Compass> School Documentation> Careers and Pathways> Work Experience & OHS

ANU applications are open for current Year 12s

ANU applications opened on March 2nd and will close on May 23rd.  The process for early offer applications requires student to provide information and documentation on co-curricular activities as well as results history.  A webinar series is being held over coming weeks to assist students through the process. Go to https://www.anu.edu.au/study/events  to find out more.
