Whole school assembly

Celebrating our school community

Today, marking International Women's day, and as a celebration of our school community, there was a whole school assembly held in period 3.

To start off the assembly, a guest speaker, Rumbi Mutezo, who was the winner of the Darebin Young Citizen of the Year Award, spoke to us about the importance of women, especially young women, in our community. As well as this, she addressed the theme of IWD 2022, Breaking the Bias.

Then, we welcomed back one of the 2021 school captains Kitty Robinson, to help hand over the blazers to the 2022 school captains.

Our newly appointed school principal Chris Jones welcomed our new year sevens to the school, and the 2022 school captains helped to congratulate all the other captains for 2022.

Finally, to wrap up the assembly, the VCE performing arts bands gave us two wonderful performances.
