Student Attendance

Data highlights that attendance is critical in improving student engagement and learning – again a focus of our Annual Implementation Plan. In 2022 we are emphasising our focus on having all students achieve a minimum of 90% attendance. The college expectation is that all students arrive at the beginning of the day in a timely manner to organise themselves for their mentor meeting and learning sessions. We are seeking your support in ensuring this.

While college staff will continue to contact you should your child not attend mentor meetings, I ask that you work with your child to ensure that they arrive in a timely manner that enables them to prepare for the day.

Should your child be ill or you need to register an absence, please call the college on 52771177 to advise of any absence.

I ask that you also check your child’s attendance on Compass and advise the college of any discrepancies so that this can be adjusted.

School Wide Positive Behaviour (SWPB)

In 2021, students, families and staff worked through reviewing our School Wide Positive Behaviour. Collectively, we were able to develop our Behavioural Matrix.  The matrix, aligned with our college values of ‘Community, Courage and Integrity’, identified conditions and expectations for all students to be engaged, active and achieving learners.

Our work in 2022, a key focus in our Annual Implementation Plan, is to consistently and collectively teach, model and learn these behaviours across the college. I encourage all families to familiarise themselves with the matrix and as always, we are keen for feedback.

Each week, through mentor meetings, sub-school and learning community assemblies, HRC classes and in individual classes, students will engage in curriculum and learning tasks that will enable them to identify and apply the focus area. We encourage families and carers to explore and discuss what this looks like for your child at school, at home and in the community.

Each week, we will have a focus – the upcoming focus is shared below:
