"Hairspray" The Musical

Welcome to the update on our 2022 musical HAIRSPRAY! 

Rehearsals

Last Sunday we were fortunate to have Mr Hillam here to get our rehearsals underway! From now on all students in cast and dancing will be required to come Sunday from 1pm in the Drama room for rehearsals. Monday afternoon rehearsals will be for selected scenes and students will be notified on Sunday who will be required for these.

All cast should have a copy of the script and those with lines to learn have been encouraged to have these learned as soon as possible!

We understand that from time to time students will be unable to attend rehearsals due to commitments. Please ensure that students use the contacts provided on the Welcome letter and communicate their absence with the organising teachers. 

Students are reminded to bring water and snacks with them to rehearsals to sustain them for the duration of the time. 

Dancers

We are fortunate to have the talented Miss Michelina from DiSalvatore Dance Academy to be our choreographer for Hairspray. She will be assisted by our own teacher, Miss Pianca, who will assist dancers with rehearsals. 

Dancers will be notified if there are weeks when they are not required to attend Sunday rehearsals. However, due to the large amount of dancing required it is anticipated that most weeks students will be required. 

Backstage Crew

Our backstage crew will be finalised shortly. 

Forms

Students participating in the show have been given a form outlining some of the key dates and their expectations. Please return these forms to the office as soon as possible. T-shirt sizes will be organised during the Sunday rehearsals as sample sizes are available to try on for students.
