Term 2 - Full Winter Uniform

Our young men return in Term 2 in full Winter Uniform. This includes the College blazer, shirt and tie, long grey pants with black belt and the College grey jumper for extra warmth, along with black or grey socks and black leather school shoes.

Uniform Shop Hours are Monday to Wednesday 8.30 am - 1.30 pm.  The last day to purchase items this term from the Uniform Shop is Wednesday 6 April.

The College Uniform also includes the College Backpack.

As the end of Term 1 approaches, many of our young men will need a haircut before returning in Term 2. In obtaining haircuts for your son, it must be an even grade and of a style and length unlikely to cause comment. Shaved sides with longer fringes hanging over the top and exaggerated parts are not permissible. The hair must not be any shorter than a “3 blade”. Hair must be clean, tidy, gel-less and of natural colour.

These regulations are standard for all, ensuring your son’s own good self-discipline as we join as one St Pius X community.

The College Rain Jacket is only to be worn on wet days and will easily fit over our boys' blazers in winter. It is not an alternative to the school jumper or blazer. It can be worn as part of the PE/Sports Uniform.  It is the only rain jacket to be worn on wet days.

As the mornings begin to cool our young men have been reminded they must only wear the correct College Uniform which includes the grey College jumper. This jumper can be purchased from the Uniform Shop with second hand jumpers also available at very reasonable prices. Hoodies of any types, including the College Sports Hoodies, are never to be worn as part of our College Uniform.

Thank you for reminding your son on leaving home in the mornings of these routine Uniform, Presentation and Hair regulations. We are very proud of our young men and certainly want them to feel the same pride in representing themselves, their family and their College.

Mr Mark Casey - Deputy Principal

Visual Arts Excursion

We took the train from Chatswood into the city and first met at the Art Gallery of NSW, we were able to engage in the annual Art Express showcase: an exhibit that displays successful HSC major works of visual arts for public viewing. Afterwards we walked over to the Museum of Contemporary Art where we were fortunate enough to catch the internationally celebrated works of the 2022 Sydney Biennale. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening experience, allowing the visual art students of Year 11 and 12 to gather evidence to form their own artistic bodies of work amongst the greenery of the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Visit from Minister Paul Fletcher

Year 12 HSC Economics students were fortunate to be visited by the Federal Minister for Communication, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts and Member for Bradfield, Mr Paul Fletcher.  He gave unique insight into the current political climate, policy decision making and future challenges. The knowledge and views he shared allow our students to have first hand knowledge and understanding directly linked to their study.
