School Age Care News

Since the beginning of term, the children have been settling into our Before and After Care routines. The Foundation students appear to have settled in quite well, making a great effort to prepare their own breakfast or afternoon snack.

To celebrate World Compliment Day, the children made chatterboxes with compliments inside. Plasticine modelling was again popular encouraging fine hand coordination and imagination. Dot painting with cotton buds on black paper was a hit as were the origami paper folded yodas.

Outdoor organised games included number soccer with Nick and a bat tennis tournament with Alex.

A hot day treat were frozen milk iceblocks and supa doopers. A morning treat – Fruit on sticks.

It was really good to see so many children back at the program where we are nearly at capacity on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our program is up to close to 60 in the mornings and 125 – 130 in the afternoon. This year we welcomed back Alex as well as introduced 2 new staff members, Ellie and Lucy, both studying to become teachers.

It is also pleasing to observe children interacting with others across a range of age groups. In particular 2 older children were asked to play chess with one of our younger students and they didn’t hesitate at all.

The children are also keen to use their ipads to complete their homework, which we allow under supervision.

Tuesday and Thursday after care sessions are becoming quite full . You might want to consider booking your child in for a permanent spot to avoid disappointment. We would appreciate families to book casual session prior to 5.30pm, if not earlier as want to ensure we have the correct ratio of staff to meet our government guidelines.

As always, if you would like enquire about enrolling your child into our School Age Care Program ( Before and After Care) or have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
