Please follow the road rules

Please ensure that you follow the road rules, especially during the busy times of school drop off and pick up. If you drive into the school grounds, please go all the way around the circle to allow for more cars to enter the school. We have noticed parents stopping a little short when dropping off students, which causes more traffic chaos on the main road.

Also a reminder, that you can not turn right during the morning and afternoon drop off times. We understand that this may be a slight inconvenience, however the rule is there to help traffic run smoothly. During this time, it's also when many students are crossing the road. Not everyone is paying full attention and this is where accidents can happen.

Student Engagement Update

Co-curricular in 2022 has gotten off to a fantastic start and it has been amazing to see all the students enjoying themselves and taking a break from academics. The aim of the co-curricular program this year has been to challenge students to strive for excellence in something that they’re unfamiliar with, all whilst having fun and building new connections. Needless to say, our students have embraced this challenge if the laughs and smiling faces each Wednesday fortnight are anything to go by. Below is a snippet from the self defence class taken by Mr Drummond.

The co-curricular offerings this year has seen the introduction of new subjects, including the student-led Community Service group, Archery, Anime, Calligraphy, and Bytes & Bots at Wyndham Tech School. These subjects have joined the ever-popular subjects that have run for many years at SCHS and I’m proud to say that we now offer over 40 subject options for students. A big thank you to all the teachers without whom the co-curricular program cannot run – it’s thanks to their dedication and talent that we’ve been able to offer such a diverse program.

I look forward to seeing all students continue to engage in the co-curricular program this year and can’t wait to see what they can achieve.
