FORPS

Friends of Rowville Primary School, otherwise known as FORPS, are a group of parents, grandparents and guardians who volunteer their time in many ways, in order to help the school. They help to raise much needed funds by thinking of and planning for fun activities. Previous FORPS activities have included the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls, the Readathon, the Walkathon, the very popular School Disco, and the Easter Raffle just to name a few. This year we are holding the first ever, ‘School Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion’  as a new and exciting experience for the students.  

 

On Monday 28  March at 7pm, before our regular monthly FORPS meeting, we are holding an informal information session to give the school community an opportunity to get to know a bit more about what FORPS does and ask any questions that you may have.  

So, if you've been thinking of joining for a while but not sure what to expect or you're new to the school community and want to meet some new faces, this is the perfect opportunity. 

We will also be running a volunteer induction session at this time that you can join in on. The volunteer induction session is a mandatory session that you need to complete every year in order to undertake any volunteer opportunities to do with the school. It's an overview of safety and OH&S policies within the school. Volunteers need to have a current Working with Children card and have received 3 Covid-19 vaccinations. Please bring a printed copy of your vaccination certificate.

 

We invite you to stay for the FORPS meeting which will begin at 7.30pm, we would love to see you there. We will be discussing the upcoming ‘School Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion’ and making plans for future events. We will also be completing some practical tasks during the meeting in preparations for this exciting new event that we would love some help with!

We are also putting out a request for volunteers to assist with the ‘School Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion’ on Friday 1 of April, we require: 

  • 15 helpers to set up the course between 11.30am - 2pm (if you can’t make the whole time any time you can spare would be of assistance) 
  • 25 helpers during the event at 2pm - 3pm when the students participate  
  • 15 helpers to pack up between 3pm - 4pm

Please note you will require a valid Working with Childrens Check, have had 3 Covid Vaccinations and to have completed a volunteer induction.
