Music at HCC

This term has seen music classes commence across the school from Prep to Year 12, with many happy sounds coming from the music rooms. We are looking forward to music at the College this year.

 

This year our music staff consists of:

  • Mr John Oppy – Secondary music
  • Mr Jason Rolfe – Secondary music, Senior band
  • Mrs Michelle Cleland – Years 7 and 8 bands, instrumental teacher
  • Mr Jeremy John - Years 7 and 8 bands, instrumental teacher
  • Mrs Jenny Fairweather – Primary music
  • Mrs Allison Hart – Instrumental music lesson administrator

Our instrumental staff are all continuing this year and include Mr Jeff Heath (contemporary and classical piano), Mrs Jeannie Kwan (classical piano), Miss Michelle Scott (voice), Mrs Michelle Cleland (saxophone, flute, clarinet), Mr Jason Rolfe (brass), Mr Jeremy John (drums), and Mr Michael Klemke (guitar).

Instrumental Music Lessons Enrolments for 2023

Private music lessons have commenced and the instrumental staff are all excited to be teaching students again.

 

Learning a musical instrument brings many benefits and joys. This year promises to be an exciting year for learning music at Heatherton with the potential for concerts and performing opportunities throughout the year.

 

Should you wish to enrol your child, there are vacancies with some of the teachers. Please read the attached booklet and complete the form. The form can be submitted to the College office or emailed to music.admin@hcc.vic.edu.au.

First Musical Soiree for 2023

Our first soiree for the year will be held on Wednesday, 5 March at 4:00pm in the College auditorium. Should you wish your child to perform please let your child’s instrumental teacher know.

National Anthem: Audition Invitation

A number of our students assist at our whole school assemblies by playing the National Anthem. Both the Senior Band, and, our String and Woodwind ensemble, play each alternating Thursday.

 

Any student who plays a string or woodwind instrument is invited to audition for the String and Woodwind Ensemble. Please contact me at jenny.fairweather@hcc.vic.edu.au if you would like to perform with this group.
