Humanities

Billanook always begin the year with our 'Settle In' Program, which aims to build a positive and inclusive classroom environment and establishes class expectations and rules. Over the course of 8 days, students get to know each other and their new teacher, whilst also exploring the following:

  • Respectful Relationships- A state wide program designed to promote positive attitudes, behaviors and equality within the school community
  • Our New School Values: Grit, Respect, Kindness and Aspiration
  • Developing a Growth Mindset

Humanities is always an exciting subject in Level 1 and 2. In addition to the 'Settle In' Program, we will be exploring diversity and the benefits of living in a multicultural society. This will link nicely with our whole school Harmony Day which celebrates Australia's multicultural community and will occur later in the term.
