Assistant Principal 

It has been a whirlwind start to the year with so much happening around the school, however it is most exciting to have our students back on site and engaged in their learning. 

I would like to begin by welcoming back our year 8 students who began with a return to school program on Tuesday January 31st. During this program students began to take a look at the year ahead, established their goals for the year and explored way to ensure they are ready and prepared for their educational journey for 2023 as a Time to Build. 

Welcome also to our newest members of the LSC community, our year 7 students and families. Our year 7 students have begun the school year with their orientation program which ran over their first three days. As year 7 is a Time for Change, during the orientation program out students were introduced to various facets of the college and immersed in what it is like to become a secondary school student. Across the program students has sessions on the school values, instrumental music, art, our pastoral program, meet the principal, respecting their devices, as well as a BBQ lunch. 

It has been fantastic to see our junior students settle back into school so well at the start of the year and we wish them all the best for what 2023 has in store. 

Our year 7 camp is fast approaching. It will be running during week 6 from the 1st to the 3rd of March. It is fantastic to see so many students keen to attend and engage in what is always a fantastic experience. Students who are not attending the year 7 camp are expected to attend school and will be engaging in an alternative program. 

On Monday the 20th of February, Lalor Secondary College is hosting our Meet the Teacher evening and Parent teacher interviews. Parents can make interview bookings from Friday the 10th of February. On the night from 4pm to 6pm, all families are invited to attend the BBQ provided and interact with our staff in a less formal manner. We are looking forward to seeing you there! This is a student free day.
