Literacy Parent Helpers Session - Thursday 23rd February 2023, 9:00am - 10:00am

Our Literacy program, like all programs at St Justin’s, is an important part of the curriculum.

For our Literacy program to be successful, we need the support of families to assist in the Literacy block, which usually runs daily 9-11am in the Junior School and at other times throughout the school day for our Middle and Senior students. During this time, students participate in a range of reading, writing, speaking and listening learning experiences. Volunteering your time to support Literacy development would be greatly appreciated by both the teachers and students.

A Parent Helper’s session will be held for parents who are interested in helping in their child’s class. This session must be attended for you to be able to help in the classroom. After completing this training session, parents will have the opportunity to assist and support student learning in the classroom, as directed by the classroom teacher when needed.

For those parents who have already participated in the Parent Helpers session and would like to help, please express your interest in assisting in the classroom. Just a reminder that all volunteers need to have completed the necessary paperwork for volunteering at St Justin’s, which includes a current Working with Children Check. Any parents who completed the requirements prior to Term 3, 2023, will need to complete a short Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Induction when they sign-in for their first session in 2023.

If you wish to volunteer for the first time, please complete the forms which are available on our website, under the Child Safety tab or collect from the school office. Please phone the school office to make an appointment for a Volunteer Interview with Mr Patrick Torpey or Mrs Leanne Snell.

Looking forward to working with you.
