At Marian, and in the wider Wagga Diocese, we recognise that learning and wellbeing go hand in hand. A student will struggle to learn if their wellbeing needs are not met, and the reverse is also true - learning enhances wellbeing. To ensure that schools across the Diocese are taking a consistent approach to wellbeing matters the CEDWW has developed The Wellbeing for Learning Framework.
The purpose of this framework is to ensure that schools create the optimum conditions for learning. It provides a strategic and comprehensive process to support schools K-12 in creating a planned approach to student wellbeing and learning.
Throughout the course of this year our students will be taking part in a series of surveys to gain information around student wellbeing and teacher practices. The feedback from the surveys will be vital to improving learning, teaching and wellbeing. The surveys are brief, approximately 5 minutes, and will be conducted in blocks each term. The aim is to use student feedback to provide an environment where students feel safe, included, valued and improve learning outcomes. A survey to collect baseline information will be conducted over the coming weeks.
The link below provides some information about Pivot - the platform we will be using to conduct the surveys and gather data.
