Building works update

Demolition phase is almost complete

We are very excited that the works have begun on the new Library STEM building that will be constructed over the next 18 months.

The first phase of the Project was to demolish the library, with most of the demolition occurring over the holiday break to minimise the disruption caused by excessive noise and dust to student’s learning. Over the last 2 weeks the builders; Building Engineering, have been working to clear the remainder of the rubble and old footings of the original library building.

The photo below shows the site at the moment, where the library used to be located. The pile of concrete is from the footings that were below the surface of the library.

The department’s information about the Project can be found on the Victorian Schools Building Authority (VSBA) website. At the front of the school you may have noticed the VSBA signboard that has been installed that highlights the $19.538 million allocated to the project.

We are very appreciative of the funding and look forward to updating the community as the project progresses.
