Ironman 70.3

Two former students were part of a three-man team that competed in the recent Iron 70.3 event.  The swim leg 1.9km was done by Sam Askey-Doran (SVC 2016-19), the  90 km bike leg by Nathan Earle (SVC 2003-04) and the 21.1 km run leg by Nathan’s older brother. Nick.

The team won the All Male Relay Teams Event by 25 minutes, clocking in at 3 hours, 47 minutes, 55 seconds.

Nathan is just getting back into competition after recovering from injuries sustained in being hit by a truck whilst competing in Japan five months ago.

Sam was the winner of the open division of the Brooke Street Pier 2000 ocean swim conducted as part of the Taste of Summer festivities. He is also a previous winner of the Trans Derwent conducted as part of the annual Hobart Regatta.
