The pace is picking up as we support our students in preparation for several critical events in their education.

Year 12 Work Placement

Mrs Raper has completed all requirements for the first batch of Year 12 students to commence their work placement during Week 3. Parents are encouraged to support their child in completing all the necessary documentation which includes sourcing a work experience site. The transport to and from the placement is the responsibility of the students to arrange, with the approval of their parents.

Work experience is a positive opportunity for students to come to terms with the demands of the workplace. As we all know nothing beats experience as the lessons learnt centre on punctuality, work ethic, quality results, flexibility and following instructions.

OLNA

Mrs Pfitzner and her team are providing support to Year 11 and 12 students as they prepare for OLNA. Only those students who have not passed all three Domains (Writing; Numeracy; Reading) are required to sit OLNA.

I have made many visits to Trades and been very impressed with the care and attention that Shaun Cantwell and his team take in supporting students across all four focus areas: Auto; Building Construction; Metals; and Woodwork.

The safety and wellbeing of the students is a core focus of the College, and this is demonstrated in the quality of interaction between staff and student.

I would welcome parent communication to support a positive resolve of an issue. Please either email bill.stewart@education.wa.edu.au or phone 97822100.
