Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Friends and Father Arsenio,

It is great seeing our students representing our school recently at the District Swimming Carnival held at Tintern Grammar. It does feel like slowly but surely a degree of normality is returning. I am optimistic that the success of the swimming program will see a higher rate of participation next year as it was a great event and the children equipped themselves well with the preparation they were able to undertake.

I would like to acknowledge and thank Beck, Sean and Tilly Young for their time and efforts (yes, our school captain of last year Tilly).

I have been unsuccessful in attracting a LOTE teacher to date. Ads have been posted for a Japanese and then Mandarin teacher without luck. I even took a paid ad in The Age. I have contacted  MACS for further advice as to how to proceed.

My thanks to the P&F for the recent Twilight Cinema and Disco evening. It was a very successful night based on the responses from attendees. Thanks to all who supported it.

This Friday staff will be participating in a Maths differentiation training session. Essentially this will better equip our staff to deliver appropriate lessons to appropriate students. Please feel free to speak to Ben if you want to know more.

Enrolment interviews for siblings are about to kick off. I will then manage tours and interviews for prospective students/families. Please spread the word if you know of families who are keen to enrol.

Our 5/6 students are very keen and eager to attend our Canberra camp. We will shortly host a Q&A session to assist information flow. Watch out for more on that.

Have a good fortnight,

Duncan
