Principal's Message

Mr David Leslie - Principal

Dear Families,

Welcome back for Term 2. It was good to see everyone back refreshed and ready to go after the Easter holidays. Term 2 is a time when the pace of academic work increases as students and teachers build up to end of semester assessments.

This Term we welcome a new teacher to the staff, Ms Laura Higgins. Laura is a local girl and will be known to many people already. I am sure all families will join me in extending a warm welcome to Laura. I must also inform you that Mrs Sandra Lyle is still unwell and will be absent for some time. Mr Gerard Gordon will also have an extended absence for scheduled surgery.

To have the least disruption to student learning and make the best use of teachers’ expertise, there have been a number of re-allocations of teaching and leadership duties. The following changes have been made and will apply for the remainder of Term 2:

I thank all of these teachers for their willingness to take on these duties so that we can continue to deliver high quality education for all of our students. There will be minor timetable changes to facilitate the above which will take effect at the start of Term 2.

Insight SRC - Every year the College surveys a sample of families, students and staff for the Insight SRC Surveys. These are an important indicator of our organisational climate and help in setting goals and directions for College development. The surveys will take place over the next two weeks. If you are one of those families to be sampled, please make the time to complete and return this important survey. It should take about half an hour to complete. Thank you in advance for your contribution.

Tutoring - This Term we are pleased to be rolling out the Tutoring program. This is a special project funded by the Victorian Government to assist students who may have fallen behind due to the Covid-19 shutdowns. There is more information in this newsletter.

Wishing all our families and students every success for the new Term.
