Twilight Sports Final Report, 2021 House Cross Country & Weekly District Sport News
Dear Parents,
This is the last word on the Twilight Sports for 2021. We held an assembly on Friday afternoon last week to present the perpetual team trophies to each of the houses and to announce the final results for all the events. As I have continually said to the students school sport should be about Fun, Fitness and Friendship. Which House wins what trophies is not the most important aspect of the night but it does help children learn that we can’t all win all the time. I have listed all the results below for everyone to have a quick look at and as you can see every house can find a positive in the results.
I wish to extend a special congratulations to all members of Green House on their overall win for the year. An extra special mention should go to Olivia Dozzi the Captain of Green House and her very vocal year 6 team leaders for the awesome job they did on the night!

2021 House Cross Country
Throughout term 1 all students in year 3 to 6 have been preparing for the House Cross Country during the warm up phase of their weekly PE lesson. We started with 2 laps of the school yard (225m x2) and built up by a couple of laps each week. In class the children end up running a 15minte run as a conclusion to this and then finish with the House Cross Country at Central Park this Friday. Most of our year 5 and 6’s will run 3km and our year 3 and 4’s will run 2km in an effort to help win the School House Cross Country Shield for their house. Green House won the shield last year and I know the other House Captains are very keen to take the trophy!
Weekly District Sport News
In even more sports news we have started training for our teams that participate in the Eltham District School Sports Association, weekly Winter Sports.
This District group is comprised of Eltham East Primary, Eltham North Primary, Eltham Primary, Research Primary, St Thomas Nth Greensborough, Eltham College and ourselves.
All students from years 4-6 will participate with a few year 3’s possibly helping out when we are short. We will field teams in AFL, Netball, Bat Tennis and Korfball. The team lists are up and we will be having a short training session on Friday after lunch this week.
