WHERE CHILDREN LOVE TO BE

I AM GRATEFUL FOR...

Our amazing parent volunteers helping with the Breakfast Club! It has been so fantastic to see the amount of students and their families joining us each morning for a nutritious breakfast in the Gym, we could not run this without the help of our parents so please make sure you pop in, have something to eat, and thank our amazing helpers for all their work.

WALKATHON

The Walkathon was an enormous success! So many parents came out to support their children and volunteering their time to help out. An enormous thank you to one of our parents, Kerry, for all his work in marshalling our parent helpers, and Ms. Osman and Mrs. Vallance for their work in preparing the day. The children had a great time and it was a great chance for our community to get dressed up and celebrate our new house system.

All the money raised will be going towards the purchase of a new playground.

ANZAC DAY

On every 25th day of April for the past 100 years, “ANZAC Day” has been observed in Australia and New Zealand, becoming an honoured and sacred institution along the way. As ANZAC day fell on a Sunday this year, we commemorated the day on Friday the 23rd. Our Student Executive read a speech acknowledging the importance of this day and its history over the loud speaker, we played the last post and observed a minute’s silence. This is an important part of our history to pass on to our students “lest we forget”.

FRIENDSHIP TREE

Anna Barden has been hard at work again with our amazing new Friendship Tree cover. This terms cover celebrates our house system and brings some vibrant colour to the playground.

PARKING AND NO DOGS ON SCHOOL GROUND

A small reminder that the road out the front of the school office is a clearway. This means that between 8:30 and 9:30 and 3:00 and 4:00 it is illegal to park in this area. We really do understand if you are running late the desire to quickly pull up for drop off, but we are foremost worried about the safety of our students and ask that you make sure you park in the carpark at the back of the school. Parking inspectors do monitor this area and will issue fines accordingly.

We have also been noticing a number of dogs being brought on to school grounds. Some of our students and parents are either scared of dogs or allergic to them. Please do not bring any dogs onto the school grounds. Dogs should also be on a lead when in in the vicinity of the school and they must remain outside of the school grounds at all time.

ABSENT STUDENTS PHOTOS

We have a timeslot from 3:30 – 6:00 on Wednesday the 19th of May for any students who have missed their school photos and would still like to have theirs taken. Parents will need to stay with their children during this time. The photos will then be photoshopped in to the whole class photos for you. If missed the opportunity to have your child’s photo taken and would like to participate please see the office for a form.

HOUSE COLOURS DRESS UP DONATIONS

Now that we have our house system up and running we would like to invite anyone who has some bright clothing in red, green, yellow or blue that they are not using to donate it to the school. That way we can have some back up clothing for students who have forgotten to get dressed up on House Colours days.
