St Aloysius News
St Aloysius will be running a two-day STEM School Holiday Program on the 12th and 13th April, and we would love to extend an invitation for this event to students currently in Yeras 4-6. The theme is an Outer Space adventure, where students will learn about (among other things) coding, 3D printing, wiring/electronics and green screening/film production.
Emmanuel College News
This week we welcomed Year 11 students, their families and their mentors to the College for an Information Evening about this year’s Nexus Mentoring Program. The students who were in the program in the pilot program in 2020 excelled and it has grown from 14 students to more than 60 students being connected with an Old-Collegian of the College who works in the career of choice for the student. Along with the benefits of the mentoring, there are some wonderfully enriching activities planned for these students during the year.
In the last week, our Year 7 & 9 students conducted their Project Based Learning presentations for their parents. This involved a student investigation of an historical world development and its impact upon the world. The students created exceptional work as a result of their investigations and parents really enjoyed being involved in viewing the ‘World’s Fair’ style presentation.
The College Open Day is our next main event for the year and is on Sunday 23 May at both campuses.
Registration details are available on the College website, www.ecmelb.catholic.edu.au under the tour and events tab on the right hand side of the home page.
Also, applications are now being accepted for students in Year 7, 2023. If you have a child in who is currently in Year 5, Prospectus Packs containing an application form can be requested through the College website, under the enrolments information tab; by contacting the College Registrar at enrolments@ecmelb.catholic.edu.au or calling 8325 5119.
