Eastern Metropolitan Region Lawn Bowls
The VSC Coles Bowls Academy (CBA) launched its first campaign at the Eastern Metropolitan Region Lawn Bowls play-offs. Vermont SC entered 4 junior teams and 3 senior teams which consisted of 21 students.
It was a successful day all-round with our students displaying some impressive bowling as well as playing in great spirits. The most pleasing aspect was to see our teams representing the College with class, dignity, and the highest level of sportsmanship with all teams pressing for a spot in the finals.
The senior team consisting of Tyson G, Heydon S & Alessio S who were unlucky to lose on an extra end in their semi-final.
Jack R, Jake M, and Tim K held their composure to beat John Monash Science School in the other semi-final. Heading into the final with rain teeming down, our senior team maintained their level-heads and were triumphant against Brentwood SC, moving into the State Finals on Wednesday the 28th April at Sunbury Bowls Club.
Joining them will be two of our junior finalists, starting with the winning team, Tom B, Will J, and Sam W. Our runners up of Oliver W, Max S, and Ben S will also attend the State Finals and all teams will do the College proud!
The inaugural Lawn Bowls team for the College included; Oliver W, Max S, Ben S, Sam H, Lachlan W, James C, Kade G, Campbell H, Ben S, Adam B, Tom B, Will J, Sam W, Kate M, Ellie M, Hailey F, Jack R, Jake M, Tim K, Tyson G, Heydon S, Alessio S.
Cross Country
Our VSC House Cross Country event was held on Wednesday the 21st of April at Bellbird Dell. Mother Nature provided an excellent day of comfortable running conditions for our 200-odd competitors. It was great to see so many students from Years 7 through to Year 11 take the opportunity to challenge themselves in the cross-country event.
