FROM THE PRINCIPAL

ANZAC Day Assembly

Friday 23 April

Our student leadership team headed up by our School Captains, Molly and Brendan organised and led a wonderful whole school assembly to commemorate ANZAC Day and acknowledge the sacrifices made by our service men and women.

Thank you to Ella, Bec, Tayla and Oscar for their readings and to the music students for their contributions.

The leaders from across all areas were introduced to the students, and everyone was encouraged to get involved in upcoming activities and events. A great job by everyone involved.

Ella, Tayla and Rebecca were also invited to participate in the Dawn Service – Lilydale Cenotaph.  We are very proud of the way in which they represented Lilydale High School and their descendants.

2021 Open Night

Tuesday April 20, was the night that we invited prospective students and parents to the school to see what we have to offer.

The Key Learning Areas set up their room with information and displays, the student helpers assisted with tours and spoke to many families about their experiences at LHS.

Our School Captains, Molly and Brendan and Year 7 Captains, Thomas, Cody, Luci and Cohen spoke beautifully to a large gathering in the Hall.

Thank you to everyone involved.  Special thanks to Tracey Hope and Sarah Collins our Transition Coordinators for their organisation and overseeing of the entire event.

Happy Retirement

Sharon Wall

At the end of last term we farewelled a loved and long standing staff member of Lilydale High School, Sharon Wall.

Below is a farewell message from Sharon;

The most delightful aspect of teaching at Lilydale for 37 years was the forging of strong bonds and friendships with staff and students.

A big shout out to the 5000+ students I have taught over the journey. My students have provided me with immense satisfaction and inspiration to always strive to meet their needs.

My fondest memories will be of my students enjoying a casual chat and sharing snippets of their lives with me; thank you.

There has always been a wonderful sense of community and collegiality amongst the staff and this is the main reason for my longevity at the school.

I leave with a mix of great sadness but joy and excitement about the next stage of my life. I thank everyone for their support and kindness over my journey.
