Touch Football

Touch Football started this week with our three teams braving the heat for the first game of the season. To register for Touch Football it is a little different this year. Registrations in 2021 will now be done through MySideline. Players will need to create a MySideline account before registering. If a player is involved with Rugby League or League Tag they would already have an account for that. This is the best link to use for players:

https://profile.mysideline.com.au/register/

If registering as a player, just click the player box and type in 2340.

Scroll down until you find your child’s team to register into.

Please check the Tamworth Touch Facebook page for the weekly draws.

Basketball

By now you should have received an email on how to register your child for Basketball Terms 1 & 2.

For those of you not aware, we have combined both St Edward's and St Joseph's schools for basketball this year in order to have smaller teams and give more players an opportunity to play. Combining forces is seen as a good option, allowing the opportunity to mix with other children from other schools.

Since the team lists were originally published there have been a few players who have asked to join, and a few players pull out. As such, teams can still change over the coming weeks. You are still ok to register with the team your child is in. If there is a change in team, we can make any adjustments with little or no problem. If you are aware of other children who would like to play, please let us know.

Some teams are still in need of a coach or a manager. You do not have to be a basketball person to be able to assist in this regard. As a coach for over 30 years I am able to give guidance as to the basic concepts and the types of things you should be showing the kids. At this point the focus should be on participation and having fun. It would be great to have a parent on the sideline for each game, if only to manage regular subs for the teams.

For kids from St. Joey's,  I will be collecting uniforms from the school today and will have them available for Thursday's games. For those in St Ed's teams, uniforms can be purchased from the canteen. If you don't have the right uniform this week that is ok, it's just a trial game.

Any questions please contact the St Ed's Basketball committee via  basketballsteds@gmail.com.

3/4 Girls team please note:

Tamworth Basketball advises that at this point in time only 2 teams have nominated for the 3/4 girls competition. Over the last several days there have been more players putting their hands up to play, but there are not enough teams for a competition to commence immediately.

Tamworth Basketball is proposing that the start of the 3/4 girls competition will be delayed whilst finding more players. If enough players are not found, Tamworth Basketball is proposing to offer an alternate arrangement where the girls will be offered a combination of skill development and game activities at a lower cost than the originally proposed competition.
