Assistant Principals' Note

Alison Hatton and Peter Flynn

Congratulations Sam and Belinda Casson

On behalf of the St Edward's community, congratulations to Sam and Belinda Casson on the safe arrival of little Isaac. We look forward to meeting Isaac very soon.

Captains Induction

On Monday we had our 2021 Captains Induction Liturgy in our Parish Church. Thank you Mrs Clarke for organising such a special Liturgy. It was wonderful that our parents could be involved, and our captains involvement in the liturgy demonstrated the exemplary level of student leadership that we have at St Edward's School.

Thank you also to Fr. Paul for leading the Liturgy for us.

Police Liaison Officer Visit

St Edward’s School Tamworth is committed to providing a school setting which promotes a safe and supportive environment where children can learn and grow. This requires the co-operation of the whole school community to provide suitable facilities that are correctly used and adequately supervised. To ensure that our students are educated with up to date information and understand how to stay safe in challenging situations, we have sought the expertise of our local Police Liaison Officer.  Senior Constable Michelle King will be visiting St Edward's School on Monday 15th March. During this visit Senior Constable King will be addressing our Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 classes  and providing up to date and relevant information about the following:

  • Cyber Safety
  • Bullying
  • Physical Violence
  • Safety
  • Digital Citizenship

We would invite our parents and carers to take some time out of their busy schedules and chat to their child/ren about the importance of staying safe online. It is so important that our children know that they have an adult in their life that they can trust to talk to if they are faced with something that makes them feel uncomfortable. We have provided some links with up to date information that will support our parent community to initiate these conversations at home.

Catholic Diocesan of Armidale Technology Agreement

St Edward’s Primary School encourages students to become familiar with the use of Information and Communication Technology. This agreement has been produced by the ICT team at the Catholic Schools Office and is designed to ensure that all students are safe online and that school accounts are used only for educational purposes under the facilitation and guidance of teachers.  St Edward’s Primary School students and parents must be aware of and read this agreement, and accept the terms by signing via Compass Events or printing and returning the acknowledgement. Thank you for your support of our school as we work to ensure that our children continue to develop safe behaviours when working with technology and online.

Read the agreement here, or via the Compass portal.

Have a great week,

Alison Hatton and Pete Flynn
