THE BEBRAS INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE 2021 ROUND 1

Bebras is an international initiative aiming to promote Informatics and Computational Thinking among students.

 

At McKinnon, students in 10ICT and 10ISy are entered into this challenge and given the opportunity to practice their problem-solving beforehand with the extensive materials (past challenge questions and solutions) made available by the CSIRO through their Bebras 365 website.

 

During the 45 minutes students were given to complete the challenge, they were tasked with solving 15 questions of increasing difficulty. Allowed nothing more than their brains, students applied logic to solve puzzles, calculate the fastest route from train station to train station and help beavers cross ditches. Congratulations to all who competed, in particular the following students who achieved a Merit Certificate in the Year 9 and 10 level:

The second round of this competition runs between Monday 23 August and Sunday 5 September this year. It is free to enter and offers different levels: 7 & 8, 9 & 10, 11 & 12.
