Friendship Lunch

Students participated in their first Friendship Lunch of the year. This year, in the spirit of an Active, Healthy Lifestyle, students met with their Friendship Group (consisting of students from across Prep – Grade 6) and were led by their Grade 6 leaders in an Olympics style sport bonanza, facilitated by Kaboom Sports.

Will WW “It was great that we got to lead the activities and everyone vibed to the music”

Charlie :”It was a fun, well organised event”

Mary “It’s great having our friendship groups – you get to know everyone across the school”.

Some reflections from our Grade 3s about the experience:

Taym’s highlight was the parachute activity – it was funny.

Olivia liked all the circus activities.

Bailey thought the stilts were fun.

Maddie enjoyed using the frog feet stilts because you had to jump to move.

Jadson's favourite song We Will Rock You by Queen was the signal to pack up and change to the next activity

And Max loved having a chance to sit at the rest station with his friends.

Students will meet in their multi-age groups at least once a term, and participate in a Social and Emotional Learning session led by their Grade 6 Leaders, exploring concepts of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness and building on our partnership with The Resilience Project and the learning that takes place weekly at a class level, as shared in our last newsletter. These groups provide our students with a further opportunity to make connections across the school, and highlight the value of peer to peer learning experiences.
