Prayer

Feast Day of St Patrick - 17 March

We pray through St Patrick to know the way to Christ.  The prayer below is part of the traditional prayer of St Patrick which gives us great comfort and direction.

May the Strength of God pilot us.

May the Power of God preserve us.

May the Wisdom of God instruct us.

May the Hand of God protect us.

May the Way of God direct us.

May the Shield of God defend us.

May the Host of God guard us,

Against the snares of the evil ones,

Against temptations of the world.

May Christ be with us!

May Christ be before us!

May Christ be in us, Christ be over all!

May Thy Salvation, Lord, Always be ours,

This day, O Lord, and evermore.

Amen.

Today (17 March), the College was represented at a St Patrick’s Day Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral celebrating 200 years of Catholic education and recognising the contribution of Irish-founded teaching orders such as The Christian Brothers, Patrician Brothers, Presentation Sisters and Brigidine Sisters to name but a few.  Mass was celebrated by Bishop Terry Brady, and it was attended by the Governor of NSW, Margaret Beasley, the Counsel General of Ireland, several NSW parliamentarians along with representatives from many schools across greater Sydney.

The College was very well represented by Alex Kim, Ryan East, Luke McCarry, Thomas Cleary, Patrick Frost, Lucas Gleeson, Niall Jaffrey, Jack Lonergan, Joe Lonergan, Br Sherrin and Mr Couani.

Summer Sports Success

The College enjoyed a wonderful summer season. There are still Junior School sports this weekend and some District Cricket and we have enjoyed great success. I congratulate our ISA Summer Finalists and our competition winners, listed below. Our ISA Swimming Team also did brilliantly and we were very proud of their results and many long standing school records were broken. Please read the Sports Section for more details.

  • 2nd XI Cricket team who won the ISA Shield for the second year in a row.
  • The 13Bs, 15Bs, 15Es, Open E and Open G teams who won their Basketball finals in Penrith.
  • NSTA Tennis teams of SPX  6, 9, 12, 16, 17, 19, 24 and 26 .

P&F Cocktail Party - You're Invited!

This is going to be a fabulous evening and I encourage all parents to join us for a great night and meet other parents. We will welcome all new parents and enjoy being together once again.

Special thanks to the large and dynamic P & F Committee and School Club Committees who are teaming up to prepare for this celebration.

We have a huge number of bookings for this weekend’s Open Day and there are just a few vacancies left in groups. Please book through the link in the attached image below.

Major Upcoming Assemblies

We have 2 big Assemblies coming up for the whole school:

  • Friday 19 March: National Day Against Bullying and Violence led by the Student Empowerment Team.
  • Monday 22 March: Harmony Day Assembly led by Mrs Manga and the Cultural Prefects.

These are important occasions where we emphasise our values and beliefs. They are important learning opportunities given the issues confronting our society at present.
