New Italian Assistant

Ciao a tutti,

My name is Omar Carminati, and I come from Poscante, a little town in the North of Italy. I recently joined East Doncaster Secondary College as a staff member. I am here to assist the Italian language teachers and learners, focusing on helping Years 10, 11 and 12 students of Italian. This will allow the students to interact with an Italian native speaker, gaining confidence through practising the language and preparing for the oncoming exams.

As for myself, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Languages and Foreign Literature at the University of Bergamo, where I had the opportunity to study and improve my English and Japanese languages abilities, and my knowledge of foreign cultures as well. I moved to Australia in 2017, and I’ve been living in Melbourne with my partner ever since. In the past four years I have worked privately as an Italian teacher, both employed and freelance, with different age groups such as children and adults. Language teaching is my passion, and soon I wish to enrol in a Master’s degree program here in Victoria that will allow me to obtain a VIT registration.

I am very grateful to EDSC for the opportunity that I’ve been given. I’m excited about this school year and  I am  ready to actively contribute to students achieving their best in Italian studies.

Best regards,

Omar Carminati
