New Library displays for upcoming events

The Library has created two new books displays for International Women’s Day and Harmony Week.

International Women’s Day on March 8 is a day to campaign for women’s rights and celebrate women’s achievements. Harmony Week from March 15 - 21 celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity, and promotes inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone in our community.

Our displays feature a range of fiction and non-fiction books on these topics.  If students are interested in reading on these subjects, please encourage them to visit the Library as our Librarians would be more than happy to help them find relevant books, eBooks, and audiobooks.

Thank you to Year 7 students Salma Gharib, Jane Thomas, and Jennifer Lee who helped with the displays, and Omer Abdulla for helping in the Library.

Library Monitor Program update

Thank you to all the students who applied to become Library Monitors. We received a very high number of applications and have now selected more than 40 students to become Monitors. All successful applicants will have received an email from Library staff with information on the program.

The new Library Monitors will attend a meeting next Tuesday March 9 in the Library at Recess to find out more about their role, including helping on the front desk, writing book reviews, and creating library displays. We are very excited for the Monitors to start their roles from Monday March 15.
