Term 1 Physical Education @ EDSC
Welcome to Physical Education at East Doncaster Secondary College, 2021! Another exciting year awaits for our students in both our Middle and Senior School Physical Education programs.
At East Doncaster SC we pride ourselves on maintaining and excelling in Physical Education and Inter-school Sport. The programs we offer are diverse and are aimed at promoting physical activity, educating students about various sports/recreational activities and to teach life-long health related skills.
Our Year 7 students have begun 2021 by participating in a Fundamental Motor Skills unit that has developed skills in catching, throwing, striking and kicking. Students in Year 8 have participated in a unit of work focusing on either Badminton, Cricket or Netball and will rotate through these sports for Semester 1. Year 9s have been exploring sports that are prominent in American culture, with games of non-contact ‘flag football’ (Gridiron) being a highlight.
Our Senior students have commenced the year studying the body systems in Year 10 and 11, whilst our Year 12s have been analysing how sports skills are developed, learnt and classified.
East Doncaster SC is a Sun Smart school and encourages its students and staff to take proper precaution regarding sun protection. Therefore in Terms 1 and 4 it is expected that students wear a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and bring with them a water-bottle. Ideally, students would do this all year round. It is the responsibility of the parents and students to ensure that all children are appropriately SunSmart.
Furthermore, students may only wear their PE/Sport uniform on days where they have Physical or Sport Education – wearing of these items on other days constitutes non-compliance to the school’s uniform policy. This may result in intervention from Year Level Coordinators.

EDSC win 2021 Division Swimming and Diving Carnival!
EDSC have won the 2021 Division Swimming and Diving Carnival!
Held on Thursday 4 March at Aquarena (in Templestowe Lower), our swim team (comprising of 27 students) easily took out the 2021 championship:
