Work Experience for Year 10s

Year 10 students and their families are reminded that students need to be finalising their placements as soon as possible in order to secure one which will have value in terms of career and study planning. All Year 10 students are expected to be completing a placement during the week of November 20-24, although additional placements can be organised at other times – see photo for block-out dates.

Remember that volunteering offers a wide range of rewarding and informative experiences as well as paid work!

F0lio preparation workshop

Ready Set Design is a series of three workshops for students in Years 11 and 12 where they can learn about careers and tertiary programs in design, develop their folio, and practise their interview and presentation skills.

Registrations are now open for workshop 2 (Folio Bytes), which will be held on

Saturday 1 July at RMIT’s City campus.

Folio Bytes gives students the chance to meet practising designers, and create a piece of work that they can include in their design folios. Students will be able to speak to the designers (who also teach in RMIT design programs) about what makes a good folio, and get a valuable insight into the application process for design programs.

Students can choose one of four specialised workshop sessions: fashion illustration, graphic design, architecture and building design, and drawing for design.
