Kickstart Year 7 study skills

Study Skills – Kick Start workshop

On June 20, Year 7 students will participate in small group workshops to 'kickstart' their study skills. These workshops will be conducted by the well-regarded group Elevate Education and skills learnt in the sessions will be reinforced through the Connect program.

Over the last 15 years, Elevate Education has delivered award winning, research based Study Skills and Exam Preparation Seminar Programmes to secondary school students. Elevate now works with over 500,000 students across 1500 schools in 5 countries annually, empowering students with the most effective study skills to reach their academic best.

Northcote High School has run the study skills program with Year 11 and 12 students since 2010 and it continues to attract praise and positive feedback. To increase preparedness in the junior years, we have decided to introduce an additional program to further increase our students’ opportunities for success.

The workshops are designed to be interactive and dynamic, but also entirely practical. In this way, the students are more likely to acquire the skills long-term, and have sustained behavioural change. In particular, having effective study strategies will allow your child to save invaluable time in their study, so they can focus on higher value tasks, de-stress and be more productive in the time they spend at their desk. This will help to ensure that your child has embedded skills and extra confidence when exams arrive.

Year 7 parents, please log in to Compass to provide payment for your child to attend this session.
